Your new workplace

The Relative Center is centrally located in Sundsvall. Here, we work together in an engaged team of a total of 12 people. At Sundsvall Dementia Center, which is part of the operation, there are currently five employees: one Silvia nurse, two specialist nursing assistants, and one nursing assistant.

The Dementia Center works to provide advice, support, guidance, and training to people with dementia, their relatives, and staff within the municipality's operational area. Our mission is to increase knowledge and awareness of dementia diseases and to contribute to a good and person-centered approach throughout the disease process.

This is how you contribute in the role of Dementia Nurse

As an employee at Sundsvall Dementia Center, you are part of a cohesive and individually tailored support for people with dementia and their relatives. The work spans the entire disease process and takes place in close collaboration with both internal and external actors.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Providing advice, support, and guidance to people with dementia and their relatives
• Guiding and training staff within the municipality's operations
• Facilitating contact and collaboration with relevant agencies to strengthen the individual's daily life
• Disseminating information through, for example, relative groups, staff training, and citizen initiatives
• Working with guidance individually, in groups, and via phone
• Collaborating with other departments, authorities, and partners
• Maintaining close cooperation with healthcare nurses, especially regarding guidance and training
• Conducting environmental monitoring in the field of dementia, including evidence-based knowledge and welfare technology

The position offers good opportunities for development, deepening, and specialization in the field of dementia, as well as the chance to contribute to the continued development of the operation.

Your qualifications and experience

Education

Licensed Nurse with further education in dementia care, or elderly care and health, or another equivalent advanced training.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Certified trainer in the BPSD registry.
• Pedagogical training/Instructor training.
• Silvia training.

Experience

Several years of experience working with people with dementia.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience in training, conversation training, and motivational interviewing.
• Conducting lectures and training sessions.
• Development work and teamwork.
• Compiling statistics and report writing/documentation.

To thrive and succeed as a Dementia Nurse with us, you are a person with high personal maturity, stability, and the ability to build trust in encounters with people in vulnerable situations.

The work is independent and varied, requiring you to be able to structure, prioritize, and take personal responsibility while collaborating well in a team. You have pedagogical insight and good communication skills, can adapt your message to the target audience, and create engagement and participation.
